Administrative Projects - Request approval from the PM

Is it possible the team member request an approval of the certain period
of holiday? That means, the team member WOULD LIKE to have holiday during
august, but the project manager can refuse it and allow him to have holiday
only in September. What should the team member do? In "Tasks - Notify your
manager of time you WILL not be available for project work", he can introduce
the planned holiday but no mail is sent to the PM, at least on my
installation, and the PM is not informed about it. Important is also that
after full fill the time here, he can in “View my tasks†report the already
done holiday, without acceptance of PM. Only after the holiday the PM can
refuse it …

Can you help me?
