Administrative update vs Web update

Hi,

I have an administrative installation point for Office 2003. Out of this
point, 5 PCs are being updated. If I check the update status of these PCs on
the MS Office Update Web Site, the status says that I don't need an update
since the latest Hot Fixes were incorporated in the administrative
installation point.

However, for one of the 5 PCs, the Office Web Site reports that updates are
missing, like SP1, Security Updates, etc. All 5 PCs get their updates from
the single installation point.

I suspected that the registry keys identifying the installed updates were
probably corrupted or missing. I tried repair, reinstall, uninstall and
reinstall, but it doesn't fix it.

What else can I do to fix this problem?

Have you tried resynching the clients with the admin point install? This
should get each one synched up to the same level as the Admin point.

Thanks,
Ryan

I should have mentionned it. Yes, I did resynch using the command:
msiexec /i "\\Office Installpoint\pro11.msi" REINSTALL=ALL
REINSTALLMODE=vomu /qb

It seems you're resynching correctly. Since you state you've already tried
repair and uninstall, I suggest you give this a try, the Windows Installer
Cleanup Utility:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301

It should be used when a product's Windows Installer management data has
become corrputed, which looks like is the case here. Run this utility and
select the Office product to have it's settings removed, then reinstall
Office on it from the admin installation point. Please reply back with your
results.

Thank you all for your inputs. I finally found the problem.

As I told you before, I have an Office installation point. I also have an
FrontPage installation point.

I slipstreamed the Service Pack and Hot fixes in the Office installation
point, but I didn't do it for the FrontPage installation point. I didn't
know that FrontPage was updated with the same service packs and hot fixes as
Office. So, when installing FrontPage after Office, I get the missing update
warnings.

The fix is simple. Apply the Office updates to the FrontPage installation
point.

Thanks,
