Administrator Issue with Authorization

Karrybelle

I am the administrator for Project Server and only two groups are allowed to
create new projects in our set up. However, Microsoft Project is now telling
me I do not have authority to create new projects. Does anyone have any
suggestions of why this may be? I checked my authorization and I went to a
co-worker who has the same authorization as I do to see if he had the same
problem and he did. If it is not our authority what else could it be?

I answer your question in the microsoft.public.project newsgroup, and
requested that you try something and report the results. Did you do what I
requested? If so, what were the results? Let us know.

There will be something in the way you've implemented application security
that's preventing you from creating projects.

Check both the categories and security groups which are associated to the
user to ensure there is an allow create projects permission and not a deny
create projects permission.

I did double check to make sure that the groups I am associated with does
have the ability to create projects and they were all marked off as allow. I
also contacted any other person who has administrator rights to see if they
have touched anything without telling me and they all have said no.

I have never had a problem before and this only started a few days ago.

Yes I did try to remove myself from any other group besides the adminstrator
group and I still came up with the same issue.
