This toolbar launches itself with two icons every time I start excel, I've
tried
moving it, deleting it, adding it to other toolbars, but it still launches
itself.
The problem is, while the icons are useful, they take up a huge amount of
desktop. Any ideas?

Hi
I found this solution in a different newsgroup:
"Do the following:
Quit out of Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint).
from finder choose Find file.
Type in PDFMaker (or PDF Maker).
There should be 3 files named PDFMaker
PDFMaker.dot
PDFMaker.xla
PDFMaker.ppa
create three empty folders
name them exactly as named
Locate each file.
move file to trash
move folder with correct name, in its place.
once all three files have been trashed , empty.
No open, Word, Excel, or PowerPoint.
The pesky PDFMaker icon will be banished forever, "unless" you have to
delete and reinstall office. In which case you'll have to repeat the steps.
This trick takes into account a feature that has always been part of the
Mac OS, and to my knowledge UNIX as well.
Neither allow a File to overwrite a Folder, and a Folder can not be
replaced by a file.
Acrobat, and Office both have a feature that can a boon for when your
trying to use the application, but also a bane when you want to remove
an item permanently. Its called self-healling. In Acrobat if it detects
these files is misssing from office it tries to reinstall them. Office
if it detects a missing file it tries to locate and reinstall it. So you
get a double whammy. You can turn off these items in Office But Adobe
will try to reinstall them. If you can find how to turn this off in
Acrobat, the Office will try to locate and reinstall them. So there is
no real way to permanently get rid of them."
