adobe acrobat PDFMaker toolbar

Every time I open a Word document, there is an extra tool bar present
which I definitely do not want to be there — Adobe Acrobat PDFMaker. I
am using OSX 10.2.8.

How do I get rid of it once and for all? I have tried altering the
Normal template but it re-appears.

Nope, you have to delete the PDF Maker file in /Applications/Microsoft
Office/Office/Startup/Word

The only problem is that Acrobat tends to re-create it as you launch it
even when you ask it to stop doing that :-\
