Adobe Comments in the MS Word 2003 Tool Bar

I have a client who has 30 instances of "Acrobat Comments" in his tool bar in
MS Word 2003. Every time he launches the application another instance of
"Acrobat Comments" is added to the tool bar. We have tried everything,
outside of reinstalling both of the applications, to rectify the issue. Has
anyone seen this before? We have already installed and reinstalled Acrobat
6.0 Standard. We are not able to right-click to remove the buttons from the
tool bar. Soon my client will not have any space to work on his Word
documents as this tool bar will have taken up the entire window.

Sounds like an add-in gone wild. Add-ins that add toolbar buttons
programmatically at startup are usually designed to remove them at shutdown,
but somehow this isn't happening. You may need to remove the PDFMaker.dot
add-in from Word's Startup folder to solve this problem; you will lose the
ability to create PDFs, but you should be able to regain it by reloading the
add-in as needed. See
http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adobe_acrobat_toolbar.htm for more
information.
