Adobe pdf maker plugins

When I start the office applications Word, Excel or Powerpoint, a pdf maker
tool bar is automatically added. I don't want this to happen every time. It
reappears on restart even if I uncheck it in Tools/Customize.

I discovered that in /Applications/Microsoft Office/Office/Startup there are
template documents which cause the menu to show up automatically. If I
remove them, the menu no longer shows up automatic. However, removing them
removes the possibility of selecting them in Tools/Customize( the PDF maker
tool bar entry no long appears.).

Is there a way to have them available but not make them automatically
appear?

You could move them elsewhere, then use this technique:

but I'm not sure why you'd want to have it available at all since OS X
provides most if not all the functionality.
