ADP 2000 & Write Conflict

I am having problems with write conflicts in an adp 2000.
I found the solution in the kb:

"This problem was first corrected in Microsoft Office XP
Service Pack 1. "

Problem is I am not using XP and can not upgrade 2000+
users just to fix this problem for the handful of people
who use the app. In additon, I have the LinkChildFields
and LinkMasterFields set already and I can't turn off the
identity property on the primary keys.

Has anyone else figured out a work around since obviously
MS has but didn't release the fix for 2000.

It's kind of hard to help you find a workaround since you didn't say
anything about what you are trying to accomplish. The article tells the
problem, but that is a dead ringer and basically you are probably going to
have to find a completely different approach.

Just in case... did you know that this same error happens when you have
triggers doing updates on underlying tables?

Have you tried it in AXP to be sure you problem this nailed down?
