Advanced Filter used with merged cells?

I have a spreadsheet that has location id's merged as 3 cells to create a row
of info. But then in one column (F) I have 3 cells in the row not merged. I
can't seem to auto filter or use the advanced filter to get the results I
need. Is this because of the merged cells? When I auto filter it only gives
me the top line of the 3 unmerged cells. Nor do I seem to be able use the
advance filter.

example: sort region for "Central" only produces lines in Col. F for "base".
I need it sorted for "Central" to incld. Base, forecast and actual lines. Can
this be done using advance filters?

FYI....Per the Row/Column headers: CellA2="1" is really merged as Cell's
A2,A3,A4 and so on.

A B C D E F
1 NO GRP COUNTY REGION TYPE Projections

5 2 a who cares South Single Base

8 3 b Idk South Single Base

Merged Cells create havoc all across Excel. Functions like AutoFilte
are a prime example

Redesign without merged cells in the portions of your spreadsheet wher
you want to utilize built-in functions like AutoFilter

thnx.

Yep, re-designed taking out the merged cells, duplicating the info and then
highlighted the font on 2 of 3 lines with the color "white" so that they are
invisible. Performed the sorts & filters as need.

Was just hoping someone else had another trick up there sleeve for this one.

Getting people to give up the use of Merged Cells...that IS a trick
Glad it worked on you! Good job
