Advanced Filter

I am trying to do an advanced filter on a list based on a criteria in
the last column of the list. The criteria I am using is a single word
that would appear as the first word in that column entry. I am getting
an error message that indicates an "illegal or missing field name in
the extract range". Can I use this method to accomplish this task? If
so, what am I doing incorrectly? Thanks in advance for your
assistance.

BTW, this site has been incredibly helpful and I appreciate the helpful

Try to place the criteria range at least 2 columns away from your list -
meaning keep at least one blank column between your criteria and the list...

Do the headings in the extract area exactly match the headings in the table?

Or, if you're using Excel 97, it may be this bug:
