Advanced permissions and its implications

When I go to
PWA\Site Actions\Advance Permissions\Settings\Permissions Levels
and desactivate "Manage Permissions" to Project Managers level, the option
PWA\Site Actions\Advance Permissions disapears on PWA. And this is ok,
because I do want they to be able to change site permitions regarding PWA
homepage.

But when I do this, PM won't be able to change site permitions on its
Project Worksapces as well...

How can I disable this permission only for PWA but not for the worksapces
they create?

Thanks

Paul,

It doesn´t make sense to me that I, as PWA's Administrator, cannot define
that a Project Manager shouldn't be able to change PWA's site permissions but
should be able to change its worspaces's permissions.

So are you sure that the only way is creating a new site collection?

Thanks,
MP

Hi Paul,

Are you PM's getting added to Web Administrators or full
administrators group on PWA as well as workspace?
In that case, can you try removing the PM's from there and add them to
PM group? By this way, they will have permissions on workspace level
rather than PWA site level.

Thanks,
Ravi.

Hi Ravi,

I wrote the question, not Paul :)

No, my PM's are not getting added to Admin ou full control groups. Only to
PM's group. This works fina. The problem is that in PM's group I uncheck
"manage permissions" (at PWA\SiteSettings\Advanced Permissions\Permissions
Levels) in order to avoid changes at PWA site pemissions. If the box was
checked all PM could manage site permissions for every user at PWA. When I
uncheck this option, they are not able to change PWA site permissions of
other anymore, but the problem here is that they cannot manage site
permissions of project workspaces they create as well!!!

In short, I want PMs to be able to manage its workspaces sites permissions,
but not PWA site permissions...
