Advanced Search for these forums?

I'm not sure where to post this question, so figured I'd put it in 'Office
General'...

....is there no 'Advanced Search' function for searching postings to these
forums? I'd like to search by keywords AND date; or by user name.

Also, I can't figure out the seemingly random order in which the search
result threads are posted... is there any way to make these display by date
(most recent)?

Thanks...
I tried a couple times (using the Advanced Search) but got no returns...
what should I be putting as the address for the group, if I want to search
all MS Office forums?

Use a news reader instead of the web interface. Check this link:
Watch for line wrap on the url:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/ie6/using/howto/oe/setup.mspx

There are many other newsreaders but this one is included for free.

If your question is generic to Office, so either about licensing or
using printers, search this newsgroup,

microsoft.public.office.misc

OTOH, if your question is specific to a particular office application,
search the newsgroups specific to that application, so for Excel,

*.excel*

or for Word

*.word*
