Advanced template usage

IS it possible that I create a te3mplate witht eh following checks:

a. Disable using Font dialog box
b. Disable editing of templates styles
c. Disable Home ribbon
d. Hide built-in/recommended styles from the Styles palette

In short, what I'm looking to accomplish is to let users change formatting
using only the Styles palette.

Would appreciate any help on this. I'm going crazy reformatting the
documents after other users have finished playing havoc with it.

That all should be possible with Word 2007, I think. You'd need to create
your own Ribbon XML for the template. In that you should be able to control
what appears in the Ribbon (the Home tab).

Put a macro in the template named FormatFont, no other code required, and
that should suppress the Font dialog box.

The Style Manager in Word 2007 lets you choose which styles are displayed,
recommended, and appear in the QuickStyles list. You can certainly change the
Word defaults for "Recommended".

You can use Document Protection to limit what styles/formatting users have
access to, and that will also prevent them from changing the styles. You'll
find that command in the Word 2007 Developer tab.

You'll find information on working with the Ribbon XML
here:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/aa905530.aspx

I recommend the three-part article on Customizing the
ribbon for developers.
