what are the advantages of ONENOTE over MS Word?
Well, as Chris commented they aren't intended to do the same things.
In the area of note-taking OneNote allows for better organization than
Word does, and allows for better web research. Also searching across your
entire collection of notes is much easier in OneNote than Word.
Creating finished documents, however, is much better left to Word.
