Hi

I'm running Word 2002 on an WinXP-SP1 machine. When I try opening some files
from word I get an error message asking me to send the error information to
Microsoft.

In our environment this has been occuring with many users, is there any way
to overcome this problem. We've had nine separate incidents today alone.

When viewing the application error logs on the troubled computers, each
computer had the following error log:

"Faulting application winword.exe, version 10.0.4219.0, faulting module
advapi32.dll, version 5.1.2600.1106, fault address 0x00002e24.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp."

Is there anyway to overcome this without initiating an Office repair.

Hi Ahmed,

My first thought is there is an add-in using advapi32.dll in an API
call. (Fairly common when reading/modifying the Registry)
