advice on corrupt file please.

I have a problem with the following corrupt file:

bf7af.msp 14.230Mb dated 2002-08-02

During backup of my C drive there are complaints
about it being corrupt and cannot be restored.

All I know is that is came from an istallation patch.

Do I still need that?
Can it be deleted?
Or where / how can I get a good copy?
