After an update, my mail will download but I don't know where.

I updated to office 2003. All my files were intact but I am not able to read
any new mail. I can send but when I receive mail outlook indicates that it
is receiving but I have no idea where it is storing the mail. I cannot find
it anywhere.
I know that I have new mail as it is indicated on the sign in screen.

Any ideas where I can find my mail?

Can you check the Unread Mail folder? That may show all the items & their
locations

Outlook doesn't update the unread mail count on the Windows Welcome screen.
It doesn't use it at all.
