After Conversion

One of the biggest problems that I tend to have is while
using Microsoft Access 2000. Anytime there is a link to a
table contained within a "Converted" database, the entire
database containing the link is very slow. For instance,
if I am working out of Database A and in there I have a
link to a table in Database B where Database B started off
in Access 97 format and has been converted to Access 2000
format, everything in Database A is very slow. It does
not matter if I am even querying or looking at that table
from Database B; every aspect of Database A is slow. It
has taken me up to 10 minutes simply to open a database,
then another 10 to open up a table within that database.
To work with this, I have linked only to tables in Access
97 format, but this will soon become inefficient. Any
ideas?
