After Delete - Open Next/Previous Message

In the Entourage's Mail Preferences (the Read section), I've selected to open the next message after deleting or filing an open message. I sort my inbox with 'newest on top' and this forces Entourage to work it's way up my email list instead of working from the top down.

Is there a way to change this setting so that it opens the previous message instead of opening the next message? This option is available in MS Outlook, and I'm hoping Entourage can be configured the same way.

You can use Option-Command-] and Option-Command-[ to delete the current
message and navigate in forward or reverse.
