After saving enterpr.global the changes are not available

Hello,

I just changed the enterprise global, saved it and checked it in. The
changes are not available for the other user. I had a look at the status of
the active cache. The status of the Checked Out Eglobal while the Action Save
ist not known.

1. What can I do to get my e.global changes into the server?
2. Will the users have the same problems and get an old version of the
e.global?
3. Does the infrastructure update solve the problem?

Best regards
Michael

Michael,

Changes to the Enterprise Global are not applied immediately to all users.

If you have someone who is working in Project Pro using a Project Server
Account connecting to your instance of Project Server at the time that you
make changes to the Enteprise Global they will not be updated of the changes
you have made until they next connect using their Project Server Account.
When users connect using their Project Server Account a copy of the
Enteprise Global is cached locally. In this example they benefit from the
Enterprise Global prior to the edits you have made. If they shut down
Microsoft Project and then re-open and connect using their Project Server
account they should then benefit from the changes you have made.

You also want to be careful when updating or adding new attributes to the
Enterprise Global that you do not "provoke" duplicate Views or Tables. I
tend to favour creating new attributes such as views, filters, tables,
grouping etc in a blank project plan and then copy them over to the Checked
Out Enterprise Global using the Tools>Organiser option, this approach avoids
making any "indavertent" or unintended changes to the Enterprise Global.
