After seeing the ribbon....

It made my stomach roll.... what a stupid concept.. Microsoft destroyed
Office! lol

I downloaded openoffice 2.0 that is simple and can do everything I want..
AND is free...

I downloaded the portable version, that just runs from a folder from your
hard disk, with no need to install.
http://portableapps.com/apps/office/openoffice_portable

It doesn't slow down or effect your system at all... that's the way programs
should be! Not like office that grasps your computer like an giant octopus
and never lets go!

It cant be simpler.. not like the 30 minute 1 gb install of office! lol....

Well because I am on windows now.. but I have vmware with linux, and various
bootable cds and dvds including knoppix...

I also had a tripple boot with XP, Vista RC2 and Mandriva linux.. but guess
what?
Vista was creating problems with the restore points in XP (this problems
exists even in
RTM!!!), so when something went wrong in XP and I could not use system
restore...
What went wrong? Well Office2007 kept bugging me about that windows desktop
search thing.. so I said I should try it... Hell broke loose! I can easily
say that windows desktop search is the most horrible thing microsoft has
ever made..

I could not uninstall it.. and I could not do a system restore in XP because
vista had wiped them out!
This is a known bug, that vista destroys the restore points in XP and vise
versa.
This was sent to MS, but they ignored it and gave the green light for
RTM...lol

I had to format everything.. so I removed everything and installed XP only..
gesh
that was a nightmare!

Openoffice is a multiplatform suite... so you can use it everywhere...even
in Macs.
