After service pack 1, outlook has thousands of calendar reminders

I just updated to Office 2007 SP1.
After restarting the computer and restarting Outlook, a reminder box popped
up with 5283 reminders!
I'm trying to get Outlook to dismiss them all, but it's running extremely
slowly because of them, and I don't know how long that could take.
I opened up a couple and they were for really old emails that I never
created a reminder for.
Any ideas?

Try starting Outlook 1 time with the /cleanreminders command line switch.

How to:
* Select Start > Run
* Type: outlook.exe /cleanreminders
* OK button

I tried that, but get a message that outlook.exe is not an internal or
external command.

Weird. Then use the full path/filename with command line switch.

e.g.

type: "c:\program files\microsoft office\office11\outlook.exe"
/cleanreminders
