Before update, Microsoft Word was creating errors
everytime I opened it--becoming non-responsive, etc.,
creating printing errors, creating recovery files that
then froze up themselves. I checked for downloads and
found that I needed Service Pack 1 (which I thought I
already had), Service pack 2, and 4 specific downloads
for parts of office--word, excel, etc. Each time I
downloaded one of these, the download would not complete--
I received the message to not close the upgrade page, but
after waiting over an hour, I stopped the installation
process and started over--each time, the message said the
fix was downloaded, but not installed, so I installed
each one separately. Now both Word and Excel freeze up
when I try to use them. Should I just uninstall the
whole mess and start from scratch???? Thanks for the
help.
