Was running Office 97 Pro on Win XP Pro before Win XP SP1
installation - No problems. Installed Win XP SP1 and now
my Access 97 is giving me problems - they are:
Tools -> Office Links -> Publish it with MS Word dimmed -
ie: not available.
Tools -> Office Links -> Analyze it with MS Excel dimmed -
ie : not available.
File -> Send -> Select Format - only HTML format
available (Microsoft Excel, MS-DOS Text, Rich Text
Format, Snapshot Format are missing).
File -> Save/Export -> Save As -> To an External File or
Database -> Save in File name (-only allows one character
for file name) -> pick file type as Microsoft Excel 97 ->
Export - gives the following error message: "The formats
that enable you to output data as a Microsoft Excel, rich-
text format, MS-DOS text, or HTML file are missing from
the Windows Registry." Run Setup to reinstall Microsoft
Access or, if you're familiar with the settings in the
Registry, try to correct them yourself. For more
information on the Registry, click Help.
Did a re-install - no change.
Did an Un-install (rebooted) and an Install - no change.
Tried the regsvr32 for each dll - no change.
Also my Access Snapview format disappeared (which was
installed and running without any problems pre SP1
install) - ie: not available in the File -> Send ->
Select Format
Did an Un-install (rebooted) and an Install - no change.
Also, in the Print dialogue the Print Range From: To:
both have a 1 in them even though the Pages option is not
selected - this forces you to actually input the correct
number of pages in the To: to get the report to print in
it's entirety.
Other than completely Unintalling Microsoft Office 97
manually as per KB254250 (which looks dangerous) I'm not
sure what else to do!
Can anyone please help?
Thank you for any help that anyone can provide, Leroy!
