Again: Installation problems

I downloaded the trial version and double clicked on the
self-extracting exe file. Before completion of the extraction, this
message popped up:

"Extracting file failed. It is most likely caused by low memory (low
disk space for swapping file) or corrupted Cabinet file."

I re-downloaded the trial version and later tried the SP1 Preview -
the result was always the same. I also tried to switch off Norton
antivirus 2004 and ZoneLabs Firewall. I then removed the only program
in the list "Remove/add programs" that had something to do with IE
(i.e. I went back to an earlier configuration). Again to no avail -
the error message was the same.

Is this the known problem described in other threads? And what can I
do? My setup is: XP Pro, 512 MB RAM, 3,7 GB free disk space.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks,
Juerg

Thanks, Erik! I did one more download of the SP1 Preview after
clearing the IE cache. I also followed the first two procedures
suggested in the KB article, i.e. I installed the latest XML Parser
and re-registered the Msxml3.dll file. The error message was still the
same.

As to repairing or even re-installing IE, I am a bit reluctant: I have
Win XP Pro OEM on my ThinkPad 40p (no disks, alas), and I can't find
an option to repair IE under Add/remove programs. Whenever possible,
I'd like to avoid tampering too much with my setting. Surely, it
should be possible to make a Microsoft program such as OneNote work
with MS IE 6?

Again, I appreciate any help/hints. OneNote definitely looks like the
program I'm looking for.

Thanks!

Hi,

I've downloaded SP1 (onenote2003sp1-kb842774-fullfile-enu.exe,
ONENOTESP1ff.msp) and I'm looking at making an administrative
installation. So I started with SETUP.EXE /a and now I'm looking at
making a Transform (MST) file. But you can't use either InstallShield
AdminStudio nor the Office Custom Installation Wizard to make a proper
response transform file. E.g. I still have to enter my Initials, the
kind of installation I want to perform, the directory to install etc.

So, what's the secret behind making a transform file for OneNote 2003?
