Again the Administrative projects ...

Dear all,
There are subjects not so clear in Project, and one of them is
Administrative Projects.

Let us think in one administrative project with only two types of tasks:
Holiday – These “tasks†are planned and Project Manger should approve it;
Sick – Unplanned non working time;

What I have learned is that the PM should build the administrative project,
in our case with only two tasks, each one with all the resources of the
project.

Now the questions:

1 – Is it possible the team member request an approval of the certain period
of holiday? That means, the team member WOULD LIKE to have holiday during
august, but the project manager can refuse it and allow him to have holiday
only in September. What should the team member do? In Tasks - Notify your
manager of time you WILL not be available for project work, he can introduce
the planned holiday but no mail is sent to the PM, at least on my
installation, and the PM is not informed about it. Important is also that
after full fill the time here, he can in “View my tasks†report the already
done holiday, without acceptance of PM. Only after the holiday the PM can
refuse it …

2 – How can I load an administrative project?
I am working on a new project installation but I have already the planned
holiday for everybody in my team. How can I load now the information on the
project and do not ask individually for each team member to do it?

3 – How can I see a complete map of the holidays of my team?
As PM I can see in Resources – View resource assignments, selecting the
timesheet format, for each member the complete assignment for holiday. But
this is not what I pretend. I pretend to see, for each resource, in a Gantt
format, the planned holiday.

4 – Is it possible to distinguish between planned (like holiday, and
requiring approval) and not planned (like sick time, and not requiring
approval) non working time?

Am I asking for too much from the project or is it possible to do it?

Thanks in advance
Paulo
