age format formula lost in merge

Jim

I am using Word 2000 and Excel (part of Office
Professional 2000) and I use the ODBC method to merge the
data. In my Excel data source, there is a cell that is
referenced from another sheet (in the same spreadsheet)
which contains an age formula. That is, a birth date is
entered into the data entry page and is converted to an
age in the merge data sheet. When I merge it with Word,
the age reverts back to the birth (ex. 3/29/1970 12:00:00
AM).
What can I do to merge the age over to Word?

Thanks for all your great help.

Hi Jim,

If you go to:
http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/showflat.pl?
Cat=&Board=wrd&Number=249902
you'll find a downloadable Word document that has an age-
calculation field, amongst many others, that will allow
you to merge the dob and get an age output in years,
months and days. Just delete whatever part(s) of the
output you don't need.

Cheers
