Every item I enter into my Agenda ends up at 1 January 1970. So I am fully booked at that date. Very inconvenient for an agenda.
How can this be solved?

Another user reported this on 8/21/09 in "HELP, please - can't add new event
to Calendar"

I advised the following,

This sounds like an issue with Date & Time that Entourage uses when creating
events. This could be a battery or pram issue.

Reset the Power Management Unit.

Their reply:
I spoke to Apple and they said it is a Microsoft problem, since my date and
time are fine everywhere else (including if I insert an iCal event in the
future). Entourage knows what the present date and time are, it is just when I
try to add a future event that the field changes to 1970 and says it's an
event in the past and won't let me add it. BTW, I used to be able to add
events in the past, and now I can't.

I've already tried reinstalling the entire Office suite, and that didn't fix
it. Short of reinstalling Leopard AND Office again, can you tell me where I
might try deleting the guilty files?

There was no follow-up from this user so I'm not sure what the fix was. If
you do find a solution, let us know.

Steps to help determine where the problem is located.

1) you can eliminate your Identity by creating a new Identity in Entourage
and see if you experience the same problem.

2) if a new Identity still exhibits the same issues, then create a new User
in System Preferences and test Entourage there.

If the problem is in your User's account, then log out/in with Shift key
down to disable any startup items. Test. If the problem still exists, it's
most likely a preference file that's corrupt. See these pages for help:

3) If the problems still exist in the new User, it's a problem with your
Office install or your base OS files. If running the Apple combo does not
fix, then you might need to do an "Archive & Install".

Dear Diane,
I created a new User and the problem is solved (and also the issue I raised <a href="Gijsbert, "dates/ Time of e-mails" #2, 31 Aug 2009 12:36 pm </ms?13@@.59b7b1c1/1>">Gijsbert, "dates/ Time of e-mails" #2, 31 Aug 2009 12:36 pm</a>> ) THANKS.
However all my data are now within the domaine of the old User. How can I get this fixed; is there an easy way to export the data ?

You can move items from one User to another via the Shared folder. Move the
Documents folder to Shared. In the New User, drag from Shared the contents
(not the actual Documents folder) to the new Documents folder. This actually
copies the data.

Other items like Preferences should be recreated new. You don't want to
bring over the problems.

Your Hard Drive/Users/Shared

Hope this helps!
