Ahoe text assignment custom field in resource usage

Hi. I created a Text1 Task Custom Field and chosen Roll down to assignmets.
In this field I will write a code number for the task.
I need to show this code number in the resource usage view.
It is so simple!
I've read many postings, referrinf to macros, FAQ37, etc.
I can´t believe it is so complicated. Both Resource Usage and Task Usage are
assignment tables. Why is it so difficult to show all assigment fields in the
same table?
For example, in visual reports you have task usage, resource usage and
assignment usage. Why is it so difficult to include in an assigment usage
table all curstom fields, task assginment and resource assignmet?
I want to understand the concept behind this. I understand that using macros
I will be able to do what I want and I'm sure it does work OK. But right now
I only want to understand better the logic in project 2007.
It was so easy in all prevoius versions! Text1 assignment custom field was
the same in both resource and task usage views, and it was logical.
Thanks for any comments

noelsprospero,
You mentioned FAQ 37 but did you also take a look at FAQ 51? Project has
always stored its data in three separate sections of the underlying
database. One section for Task data, one for Resource data and one for
Assignment. Why is it done that way? I don't know. And yes, there are
probably lots of things that from a user standpoint could be done easier
in Project, but it is what it is. However Microsoft applications have
always provided the flexibility, (via VBA), that allows users to do
things that are not currently possible with the "canned" application.
From my viewpoint, that is pretty amazing.

The only change to spare fields for Project 2007 is the ability to now
have formulas in customized assignment fields. That's what the "roll
down to assignments" means. In previous versions of Project, this option
was not available. As far as the spare fields are concerned, they are
the same for Project 2007 as for previous versions. There are three sets
of spare fields, (task, resource, and assignment), and they are all
independent as explained in FAQ 51.
