Alert me about my resources

I am having trouble getting it to work the way I expect it to work. I have a
Manager - he has a "team lead" access in Project Server. I have the RBS
setup so that a large group of people that are his employees are in his
chain. He checks the boxes to be alerted when a resource has a task before
it is due. He does NOT get an email. Our email goes out daily and he does
get the email for tasks that he personally is assigned to - but he does not
get anything for his employees' tasks. No, he is not a Project or Resource
Manager within Proejct Server, nor would he know how to do that.
How do I get him the email that he can look at all of his employees' tasks?
