Align table column by decimal point

I am attempting to align numbers in a table column by
decimal point. I am setting the tab at the same point in
each cell and setting it to the decimal point. Some of the
numbers do not have decimals and it appears they are just
centered on the cell. When I add decimal points they still
do not align properly. Is this not the correct method of
aligning these numbers? Is there another way to go about
this?

I don't know if this is the issue but when using a decimal
tab the paragraph alignment has to be set to "left".
