align to baseline guides in table cell

I want to align the text in multiple table cells to the baseline guides as
used by the rest of the document. I am using styles, and have selected "Align
to baseline guides" in the paragraph format, but it does not seem to take
effect on the text.

Any suggestions would be great

Thanks for your response. I've checked here already, however. The problem is
not any of those listed. The problem is that it is not actually aligning to
anything, not that the alignment is misplaced or overflowing etc. The text
still behaves according to values of line & paragraph spacing and in no way
aligns to the guides at all.

The baselines work fine in my other text boxes. It seems as if the text in
tables just doesn't receive the format.
