Aligning a Picture in a Template made for Word

Hi, I'm on MS Office 2004 for Mac and I'm on Word trying to align a picture
in a CD Label template.

This template was made for Word (from www.PolylineCorp.com) but it may have
been meant for Word in Windows. I'm not sure on that. It comes very close to
working perfectly, but....

No matter what I do, I cannot get the picture to print so it covers the
label area completely. Either one side is short on the margin and leaves a
white unprinted area or the other side is. I've tried these things already:

-Enlarging the photo in Photoshop and re-inserting it in Word
-shifting the margins for the template in Word
-Enlarging the photo in Word
-Changing the Left/Right Indentation Settings

I am new to Word for Mac here so I admit I could easily be doing something
wrong or missing something fairly basic.

I appreciate any guidance or help.
Many Thanks, Frank B.

Hi Frank:

None of the things you have tried will work unless you have the picture
"inline with text".

If the picture is "floating", then the picture position is independent of
the things you are changing.

You can select the picture and try Format>Picture>Layout...

Click the Advanced button to expose the precision settings.

Hope this helps

I should mention too that when I went into the advanced settings, the
picture already showed itself to be inline with text. So I'm stumped and at
a loss.

Like I said, I appreciate your tips; I know more about this program as a
result, but for some reason, the settings are locked in place here. (L/R
margins set at .13 and top/bottom set at 0. They can't be changed for some
reason)

I'm open to any other ideas. Many Thanks, Frank B.

Hello Frank -

I think you may have missed John's point:)

The techniques you *originally* tried have an effect only if the graphic is
In Line, but the other positioning settings require that the object have
some form of Text Wrapping applied - IOW, they *don't* apply to In Line
graphics. That's why the settings are dimmed.

Select one of the Text Wrapping options (such as Behind Text or Tight) & the
positioning settings should come to life.
