Aligning the Project Calendar

I would like to change the project calendar to align with our accounting
calendar (i.e. the accounting calendar ends on monthly dates not aligned with
the yearly calendar) so we can load actuals and plan accordingly. Anyone know
if there is a way to define a new project calendar (different month end
dates) to do this?

Project is kind of limited in this regard.

You can set the fiscal year to start in a different month, but not on a
specific date within that month.

Other than that, you could use a formula in a custom field to show the
different date, but it would involve writing a formula to figure it out.
Once you have this you can display the new dates on the gantt bars, but not
on the timescale.
