Alignment & Highlight Issue

I have 2 questions:

How do I align text vertically in a text box?

When I switch over from record to record, text in a text
box is highlighted. How can I get rid of that? I don't
want it highlighted.

Thank you for your time

Hi Sally,

I don't understand your first question...are you wanting to align two or more textboxes
vertically?

For your second question, click on Tools > Options... Select the Keyboard tab. The
"Behavior entering field" grouping provides three options that you can select from: Select
entire field (I'm guessing that's what you'll find as your current selection), Go to start
of field or Go to end of field.

Hello Tom,

I'm sorry, I used the wrong description - I want to center
the text in the text box vertically.

Sorry about that - Thanks for your help

Hi Sally,

Open the form or report in design view. Click on View > Properties to bring up the
properties display. At this point, you should see the word "Form" displayed in the blue
title bar of the properties display, along with five tabs: Format, Data, Event, Other and
All. The All category is exactly as it sounds: it is a listing of all of the properties
that are found on the other four tabs. I always find it easier to work with shorter
listings, so I tend to select the tab that is appropriate for the task.

In this case, you are looking for a Format property of a textbox. You need to select the
textbox in question, so that the information in the blue title bar changes from Form to
"Textbox: TextboxName". All of the properties that you now see, on the various tabs,
apply to only that textbox. You can experiment with the Height setting (# 11 in the
Format list) in case your textbox is much taller than it needs to be. The Top Margin and
Bottom Margin settings shown near the bottom of the list on the Format tab might also work
for you. Use a fairly small value for these settings as a first experiment, say 0.02" for
a Top Margin. The vertical centering will change in design view, so you don't need to
switch back to form view to see the effect. The Text Align setting, Left Margin and Right
Margin will affect the horizontal positioning of your text.
