alignment of symbols

I am trying to make a one page calendar with symbols over certain
dates. That I can do, however when I try to resize an object, it will
only resize in certain increments. It is like it is snapping to a
certain grid. How do I turn this off so that I can resize an object
in small increments?

HELP!!

Hi Shirley,

Open the drawing toolbar (View> Toolbars> Drawing). Click on the Draw icon
at the top of the toolbar. In the popup menu, click on Grid (at the
bottom). Uncheck "Snap objects to grid."
