All Day Event - spanning 2 days

When someone sends me an appointment for an all day event
it shows up as two days on my calander. I am using XP
and the person who sent me the appointment is also. I
check our time zones and they are correct.

When I look at the appointment that gets accepted in my
calendar, instead of it being for 10/6/2003 all day, it
shows up as 10/6/2003 8pm to 10/7/2003 8pm.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you're in different time zones or in the same time zone with different daylight savings settings.
