All Entourage Calendar Entries Lost

I have lost all data in my entourage calendar twice in the past two
weeks. This was not a problem for the first year of use. I have had
Entourage syncing with iCal and iPhone during the entire year with no
problems until recently. The data disappears from Entourage first,
and disappears from iCal at the next sync. How can I avoid this
problem in the future?

Follow-up note: I am using Entourage 2008 on Mac OSX version 10.5.7.
