All Excel files open when program is started--why???

Every time my Excel program is started, all the saved files open up and are
in the clipboard. It takes a long time to load and I have to empty the
clipboard before I start my work. Any suggestions on how to correct this
problem??? Any help would be appreciated :)

It sounds like you have specified an alternate startup folder. Once you
get Excel open, choose Tools/Options/General from the Excel menu and delete
any entry that appears in the "Alternate startup file location" box, then
click OK. If you have a path specified in this entry it will cause Excel to
try and open every file in that path every time it starts.
