Using the view > layer properties I can change all the lines to a different
color.

How can I change only a few lines to different colors?

I'm sort of a visio rookie.

Just select the line in question (hold shift key for additional lines), then
go to menu bar > line colors or menu bar > Format > lines. Note, if the line
colors icon isn't shown on the menu bar, go to View > Toolbars > Formatting.

Hi Jimbo,

Using layers to color lines is sort of "not really coloring them". Think
of using layer colors as just a temporary "view of the data"--to
highlight a particular class of shapes (which live on a particular layer)

To really change the color of lines, select some shapes, then go to
Format > Line. There are also toolbar buttons for coloring line, fill,
text properties, etc.
