All mail goes to bulk mail folder. Still. Sigh...

I have entered everyone I know or receive emails from into my address book
using the Tools, Options, Add to Address book, Sender -- that is if they
weren't already there. No matter what I do, all emails land in my bulk mail
folder. I don't get -any- mail in my inbox.

So, little background: My friend's son built me a new computer. I was using
Mozilla Thunderbird for email, but he still had Outlook Express available if
I wanted to use it. Then we finally, finally got DSL in our moderately rural
area. So I switched from a cheap isp to Qwest dsl. I called their support
line for help setting up my email on Thunderbird. The guy told me that I
couldn't because Mozilla wasn't set up to support an http account. So he
helped me set it up in Outlook Express. My friend's son was very upset. He
said that with the money we're paying Qwest, they should provide a pop or
imap account. That basically what they'd given me was a hotmail account.

So that brings us up to date. My two questions:

Should I be demanding a pop or imap account from Quest?

And in the meantime, how do I get my incoming mail to go to my inbox, not
bulk mail folder?

Thx

I believe qwest no longer has their own mail infrastructure and uses
Hotmail/MSN to provide email. (Other DSL providers do the same, since DSL is
mostly just switches in an office, not a bank of modems requiring a server,
like dialup.)

If all mail is going to your bulk folder, you'll need to log in to the
account online (http://www.hotmail.com) and check the bulk settings there.
It's probably sending every message not sent from people in your online
contacts folder to bulk.

This newsgroup supports Outlook from the Microsoft Office suite of programs.
There are separate groups for Outlook Express questions, since it is a
completely different program despite the unfortunately similar name. Try
going to
http://support.microsoft.com/newsgr...6_outlookexpress&SLCID=US&scrollnews=m1s4s1s1
to access the OE 6.0 group on the Web. (I don't know the answer to your
question, or I would have answered it here anyway...just so you know we are
not trying to be unhelpful around here :) )
