Start Word in Safe Mode and tell us if you have menus then and if it closed
correctly, etc.
From Start, Run type in
winword /a
and press enter. This starts Word bypassing all add-ins, custom macros,
templates, etc.
: Hi
:
: I edited the registry as in the article on this in the MVP site , first
: toolbars then data. When I start Word it reconfigures but I still have no
: menus or toolbars.
:
: I renamed in both cases the data file entry is identical to the old value
: and as far as I can see the toolbars is too (it is very long string)
:
: Do you have any other suggestion? I have already repaired then deleted and
: reloaded Office
:
: I also have problems with MS office toolbar; it always hangs so I have
: disabled it in start-up. And when I shut down windows I always get a msg
: “Notification Wnd for RNAdmin†not responding. Sometime when I restart
I get
: a msg on the desktop saying it may be corrupt, I click the restore desktop
: and it is OK. These problems were all apparent before my menus
disappeared.
:
: I have Office 2000 on Widows 98 second ed.
