all of my emails and folders have disappeared, how do i retrieve?

Last night all of my files and folders were fine, today I opened my outlook and
almost all of my folders and emails were gone. Only one of my personal
folders is still there. I checked and nothing has been dragged into other
folders - they are just gone. Help! how do I get them back? where did they
go? why did they go? and how do I stop this from happening in the future?

You didn't provide any configuration information so hard to tell what caused
it and how to prevent it from hapening. If all was kept in a pst-file;
restore from backup.
