My computer was installing an update for office and it froze [for a while] and I forced a shut down, and now the office applications have been deleted, but everything else in the microsoft office folder is still there. Any ideas on what happened/how I could get office back?

Sorry, it froze when i shut the computer down and the computer went into that "do not shut down, computer will shut down automatically" stage.

Have you tried a search? Also check your Trash.

You may need to reinstall, interruptions during updates can be pretty
problematic.

In most cases, when installation of an update fails part-way through, with
the installer either quitting unexpectedly in the accompaniment of an error
message or exhibiting an indefinite hang necessitating a force-quit, the
result is all or some of the Microsoft Office applications are completely
missing.

The only remedy is to re-install Office from your CD and update. FWIW, this
is not a MS specific problem. It can happen with any update process.

Tip: I suggest stuffing the Office folder prior to updating in case of
problems. Easy to revert to previous install.
