All Office 2003 applications very slow to respond.

Hello,
I have seen a number of articles on several news groups discussing
speed issues with Office Applications.

I have tried all of the suggestions given but I too find the
application response times to be unworkable.

For example, in Word, it will take about ½ a second after typing for
each character to appear on the screen.

Excel seems to be even worse, I will type in a number in one cell,
enter and start typing a number in another cell. In this case it will
take at least 1 second for the numbers to appear.

Additionally if I am working say in Word and then use Alt-Tab to get
to Excel (or vice-versa) it will take about 3 seconds for the
application to wake up and let me do anything.

Did anyone find these problems and actually fix them?

Thanks,
Sharon

We don't know which posts you've read or which suggestions you've tried, and
that makes it harder to generate different responses.

I would run a serious check for malware using Ad-Aware and/or SpyBot.
