All Office 2003 documents are locked

Let me tell you exactly what happened, as this might help you, help me.

I did a complete restore on my Sony Vaio, using their restore disks. After
the restore, I installed my copy of Office 2003.

2 days later, the computer asked me to insert the restore disk, to install
all the bloatware that comes with a computer, including a trial of Office
2003 Student/Teacher edition.

I think what happened was after I installed and activated my purchased copy
of Office, the restore process installed the trial version of Office 2003
Student/Teacher edition.

I just don't know how to correct this.

Thanks in advance!

You need to reformat your disk again. Install Windows without the Sony
restore disk. After reinstalling windows, then install the drivers from
Sony's restore disk. This is the only way to keep the hardware vendors crap
off your system. You might have to purchase an upgrade version of windows
to do this if Sony has restricted their Windows to only loading from the
restore disk.

At this point, you have a clean system to work with and can install Office
2003 without your system then asking for the bloat ware later.

Restore your PC with the Sony restore disks, all of them, having saved any
data first.
Remove any bloatware you dont require, as well as the trial edition of
Office.
Only once you have updated win and are satisfied the sys is functioning
correctly install Office retail & update it.
The PC wouldnt have asked you to insert the restore cd unless (a) the
initial restore process had'nt completed or (b) you were trying to use an
app that was on one of the restore cd's. So pay attention to what you are

Unfortunately, if some of the unwanted bloatware include Symantic's Live
Update, this won't work. Live Update _NEVER_ cleanly uninstalls.

Uninstalled fine for me, last time I had cause to remove a symantec app on a
sys, and that includes a Sony
