all office 2003 programs take a long time to open

has anyone seen this before? outlook attachments, word, excel take forever to
open whether on the server or the local machine. i have done all the updates
am quite lost at this point help would be awesome.

One suggestion I've seen is to unmap drives that are mapped to disconnected
file shares.

Did this issue just start on the machine? Have you tried cleaning out temp
files, etc?

Make sure you have no network shares that are not currently
connected. If so, this may be your problem especially if it
only happens to MS Office programs but not programs from
other manufacturers.

You don't happen to have a "disconnected" or inaccessible printer set as
the default printer on your system?

i consider myself quite well equipt when it comes to microsoft products but
this ones got me, i have done all possible updates disconnected all mapped
drive rebooted (on reboot all drives remap) but it happens whether local or
network but only for as it stands two users, yes temp files are clean

all users have the same mapping but only two users are having this issue
