All Office 2007 programs appear to run in safe mode

We have a laptop running Office 2007 Small Business Edition - judging by
appearances only, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Publisher all *look*
like they are operating in safe mode (as if the computer itself was running
in safe mode... the windows, toolbars have that strange ugly safe mode look
to them). However I don't believe the programs are *actually* running in safe
mode since I am able to start them up in safe mode via start > run etc.

The other symptom is that any charts or graphs are displayed only in black
and white instead of their intended colors. However, if the document is
printed, the colors print as intended. Also, in PowerPoint, if you click to
view the presentation in slide show mode, the colors display as intended.
Colors from images display normally in either view.

Has anyone encountered this before? I'm thinking we should just reinstall...

I beleive I have the same issue:
Office 2007 apps have a generic look, the Office button is black and white,
no colors in the squares and no background or outside color on the button.
It is not in safe mode, I tested starting it in safe mode and the title bar
will show the words Safe Mode.
I have tried uninstall/reinstall, but still the same generic look.
Any Ideas???
