All Office not working - no Excel, no Word, no Publisher!

Not very computer literate!

It all started when I couldn't download the SP2. Now I have managed to loose
Microsoft Excel, Publisher, Word, etc.

Can anybody offer me any assistance please? I haven't got a clue what I
have done, I did try the System restore, several times but that has only made
matters worse.

I can see all my documents and files but I can't access them because a pop
up says, Windows Installer - preparing to install and then nothing!

When I try to repair the Microsoft Office Small Business Edition 2003 on the
Add or Remove Programs a pop up says - This patch package could not be
opened. Verify that the patch package exists & that you can access it, or
contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows
Installer patch package.

Apart from all that, I can use my emails, internet and see my photographs.
Not exactly what I need though when I need Word, Excel & Publisher.

Please help!!!!!

If you are not very computer literate (as you freely admit), you'd be
better off IMHO to get a local PC person to help you out.

Look in your local phone book for PC Doctor or somesuch. Just make sure
they ABSOLUTELY DEFINITELY WITHOUT EXCEPTION WILL CHECK WITH YOU before
they reformat your hard disk!

Thanks for that but they also charge rediculous amounts of money for doing
very little sometimes.

I have got some help from Microsoft for now so will see how it goes.
