Hi Wolfpack,
Folks have identified several causes for the color issues.
If you don't have dual montiors and this persists after restarting the PC you can try the following:
A. Change the the color choices in
Office File Button=>Word Option=>Popular
then restart Office.
B. Windows Control Panel, Display settings:
Color settings should be set higher than '256'.
C. Accessibility: Display High Contrast should be unchecked.
D. Toggle the Windows Theme and color schemes in Windows XP
to standard Windows XP Blue from a custom/ 'classic' setting.
E. Check the website for the manufacturer of your
graphics card to look for an updated driver.
F. System: Hardware=>Device Manager:
Display Driver - If SMS Remote Control Agent is present
disable it then restart your PC.
If this last one worked, please advise if you have installed
or use any sort of Remote 'help desk' or online collaboration capable software recently. It's not clear what enables that SMS
Agent.
=============
The display settings in Control Panel are set to high resolution and all
other applications open correctly, but any Office 2007 program (Outlook,
Word, etc.) opens in low resolution. I am operating on a Dell laptop running XP Pro with a NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS. Any ideas?>>
